V Polish Memory Studies Conference
On 26-28 November, the Department of Hebrew Studies took part in the 5th Jubilee V Polish Memory Studies Conference at the University of Silesia in Katowice:
🔶 Dr Agata Szepe-Vratolis presented ther research results in a paper ‘Pioneers of Israeli leisure tourism in Poland: classical content analysis of posts about a trip to Poland, published in Hebrew on www.lametayel.co.il between 2011 and 2015’,
🔶 Dr Maria Piekarska-Baronet spoke about ‘khamsin in the snow’ and reinterpretations of the memory of Polish hakhshara programs in her presentation entitled ‘On the periphery of utopia. Memories of Grochów kibbutznikim yesterday and today’.
The conference was filled with presentations and discussions on the latest memory studies research conducted in research centres around the country. We would like to thank the organisers and see you next year!
