Marta Dudzik-Rudkowska

Graduate of English Studies (major: American Studies) and Hebrew Studies at the University of Warsaw. Years-long language instructor and methodologist (English, Hebrew), actively seeking new solutions and adapting innovative teaching methods and approaches to the needs of Hebrew learners. For her didactic work she has been awarded the University of Warsaw Rector’s Award (2017, 2019). She teaches Modern Hebrew, translation, and Israeli Cinema. Author of translations of literary texts, historical sources, academic and popular science books. In the past she worked as a book reviewer and editor. 

Presently her research interest focuses on Polish Hasidism, with special attention to Hasidic pedagogical thought and religious youth organizations in the Second Polish Republic. Her research has been internationally recognized and awarded numerous grants and prizes, including The University of Haifa (tuition fee, 2019-2023), Inter-University Academic Partnership for Russian and Eastern-European Studies (PhD Fellow, 2023-24), Haifa Interdisciplinary Unit for Polish Studies (PhD Grant, 2022-23), Conway Family Foundation (UK): Conway Prize for Jewish Heritage Research (2023), as well as the prize for Jewish thought researchers sponsored by The Sir Isaac Wolfson Chair of Jewish Thought (2021).
